This scholarship is intended to assist a clay artist who is unable, for financial reasons, to attend the workshop, but who would benefit from the program.  Preference will be given to students.  Recipient cannot have received a previous scholarship.

The person chosen to receive this scholarship should plan to be able to attend the entire workshop, from Friday, September 14 at 1:00 pm to Sunday, September 16 at 3:00 pm.  The scholarship will include full registration and meals and room accommodations at the Ranch.  If transportation is needed within New Mexico, members who are attending the workshop from various locations around the state can provide a ride.

    September 14-16, 2018 – 2 day workshop
Ghost Ranch Education and Retreat Center

    Registration deadline August 13, 2018

This year NMPCA returns to our popular New Mexico Connections format with short presentations by several presenters.  Six master potters lead short programs, each on a different technique. This popular workshop format brings together artists interested and expert in many different techniques and methods and results in a very lively exchange.  All participants learn from the presenters and from each other in the process of having great fun.

    Presenters for this workshop include

Leonard Baca presenting Sprayed Glazes and Engobes

Gloria Gilmore-House with Refining Thrown Forms

    Cheryl HoaglandFreehand Faceting

Andrea Pichaida presenting Hand Building of Breathing Nests

Sara D'Alessandro presenting Dynamics of Working Small and Large

Penny Truitt presenting Exploring the Surface

Read more about the presenters and see something of their work.

A word about accommodations:  Rooms at Ghost Ranch this year are limited to "dormitory-style" rooms with shared bath, or camping.  The cost is $170/room, which can be shared by two people.  If you have a roommate participating in the workshop, you can each register for a "shared" room to pay 1/2 each.  If you are bringing a guest who is not attending the workshop or want to have single-occupancy, select the single occupancy choice at a cost of $170.  Meal cost is $72/person.  Alternative accommodation can be obtained at area bnb.  See ideas on our accommodation page.
