Statement

Since retiring I have started working with clay, experimenting with different subjects and methods, coming full circle and integrating the painting I did in my youth. My love for animals has always had a strong influence on everything I have done, including working as a veterinarian. I have gravitated to functional work as I believe the things of daily life can be just as pleasing and beautiful as any other form of art.

My work is now mostly thrown with cone 6 stoneware,  I paint with underglazes on greenware and use clear or celadon-like glazes in oxidation firing.
